Hi, I am Sara, owner of Giroux Design Studio. Here is a little bit about me and how I got here:
My oldest memory from what brings me to where I am today is from childhood. I used to draw floor plans on concrete with chalk for my Barbies. My plans had walls, doors and windows placed meticulously for my Barbie’s needs! Fast forward two plus decades and I find myself doing the same thing, except I no longer use chalk and I do it for real people – my clients! And I still love every moment of it.
I earned my Master of Architecture from North Dakota State University in 2013 with a minor in Psychology. After graduation, while working as an Architectural Intern, I stumbled upon a Residential Design Company, where I was once again reminded of my true passion – homes and people! I worked at that company for 4 years as a Residential Designer/Drafter before finding myself the opportunity to start my own business.
I am happy to say Giroux Design Studio was started Spring of 2019 and has been going strong ever since! During this time, my husband and I were blessed with 3 beautiful children. I love my job and I love my family. This business has allowed me to enjoy both!
To provide my best work and full attention to each client, I work exclusively with a few builders and designers. I work closely with the builder during the design and drafting process, making sure we are in the same page with the project's intentions from the beginning.
A well thought-out plan and a good team working together from the start allow the construction process to go smoothly, meaning less stress or unfortunate surprises for the homeowners. Building, adding or remodeling a home is such an exciting adventure; the process should be just as fun and exciting. I will listen to you, I will work with you and I will guide you when needed. Finally, I will share your excitement until the end!
I choose not to focus on trends or push my personal opinion on design. What I do is provide a timeless design that is a direct response of the homeowner's needs & style.
